Coral Honeysuckle
Lonicera sempervirens

This vine is native to Central and North Florida along the edge of forests and along hedgerows.

Rich, moist to dry soils with abundant organic matter are needed to produce a healthy plant full of red flowers. The leaves are green above and a light bluish green below.

Hummingbirds visit the flowers and birds eat the small red berries in the fall. If pruning is needed, make sure not to cut to leafless stems or it may die.

Use on a trellis or allow to climb over shrubs or tree limbs. Can be used as a ground cover or to cascade over a wall.

Make sure that the soil is deep and rich and there is plenty of sunlight.
